You’re a busy professional, you don’t have time to write the number of articles that may be required to provide enough valuable one-way links to your site, and present writing credentials for your business. Luckily you can find many professional services that specialize in writing articles and content for your marketing campaign.

One thing to determine, when searching for a good writer, is where you’re going to publish your articles. Different publications, such as industry magazines, may require more in-depth writing than an online article submission site will. You may want to consider finding a copywriter that can handle both types of writing, or hire different writers for your separate needs.

Following are a few tips for finding the right ghostwriter for your business:

1. Look for someone with a similar personality.

If you are looking for someone with similar interests or characteristics, it might be best to browse their blog. If you are looking for someone who shares your sense of humour and can effectively portray it through their writing, this is the best place to find it. In fact, sharing a sense of humor between you and your writer may predict a successful collaboration, and compatibility in your writing projects.

2. Do they complement your strengths?

Do your strengths complement each other? It’s important to keep this in mind as you search for a writer. You have ideas, but you’re not sure exactly how to articulate them, that’s why you are searching for a creative partner. Will the writer you have selected be able to do this for you? You should be able to rely on them to bring your vision to reality, just as they can rely on you to be clear and concise with our needs. Can their creativity and your logic work well together to establish the right balance?

3. Are they easy to work with

Arguments and hostility will spoil the creative relationship. If you don’t agree with each other from the start, it’s not a problem that will fix itself, and it’s possible the work will suffer. Are they eager to hear your ideas and feedback? Occasional arguments are not a big deal, but if you can’t come to a mutual agreement afterward, it might be time to gracefully terminate the relationship and look for another writer.

4. Find a writer that you respect.

In order for you to determine if you’ve picked the best writer for your projects, you need to evaluate their work. Is there a uniqueness about their ability or their voice? Do they write in a way that emulates your core values and those of your customers? Finding a conscientious writing style can be a difficult. You want to find a writer who you can trust to be the voice of your company. If they speak down to, condescend or belittle your customers, whether they mean to or not, you’ll start to see your readership slip away.

5. Can they produce an efficient project plan?

Make sure that they evaluate your project, and have the ability to create a project plan from inception to deadline. Can they provide a plan in writing, or produce a timeline that leaves room for changes or revisions? While not every project will require a plan, it is good to know the level of detail and attention that your project will be receiving.

Always ask for samples of their work, and closely evaluate their message from your customer’s point of view. If you have any doubts at all, find a different writer. When hiring a writing service, make certain that they provide you with samples from the writer, or writers who will be assigned to your project. The samples that they provide on their website might not necessarily reflect the work of your assigned writer.

Collaboration is key. Just remember, you have a greater chance of working successfully together if you can trust and respect each other.
